Safety

Most splitsies are quick handoffs in a store parking lot. A few habits keep them easy and safe.
Before you join
- Check the host’s ratings and how many splitsies they’ve hosted.
- Read the meetup details in the group chat, and agree on the price and how to pay before pickup.
Meeting up
- Meet at the store or another busy, public place, during the day when you can.
- Let someone know where you’re going, and keep conversations in the group chat.
- Bring your own bags or containers if the group is dividing an item on the spot.
Paying
- Pay the host directly, the way the group agreed, after you have your share or as agreed in the chat.
- Be wary of anyone asking for payment through unusual methods or for more than the listed price.
Community guidelines
- Be on time, and tell the group early if your plans change.
- Describe items and prices honestly.
- Be respectful in chat. No harassment, hate or spam.
- Rate people fairly after pickup so others can decide who to split with.
If something goes wrong
If you feel unsafe, leave and contact local authorities. To report a person or a splitsy, use Contact at the bottom of the home page. Hosts can also remove members from their groups.
